As a zoologist and educator with a PhD in Animal Ecology, I’ve spent 10 years teaching biology in secondary schools, while also dedicating my free time to teaching animal ethics. Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply frustrated by the fact that schools don’t teach essential values like empathy and compassion toward animals, despite the undeniable suffering animals endure because of human actions.
I firmly believe that education is at the root of creating a better, more ethical society. Children naturally love animals, but we fail to equip them with the knowledge to protect these living beings. Teaching empathy and compassion is crucial because it fosters understanding and kindness toward all, humans and non-human animals alike.
Through Kind To Animals, my goal is to teach what I wish I had learned as a student and what I always wanted to teach as a teacher. It’s about inspiring kids to become changemakers, building a more compassionate world for all living beings. I want to empower the next generation with the life skills they need to not only protect animals but also grow personally, helping them become more responsible citizens and compassionate individuals.
